WHAT IS ORTHODONTICS

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the prevention and treatment of abnormalities in the position

and development of the teeth and jaws. Protruding teeth, crowded, in a crusader's bite, present a picture of malocclusion, which means bad chewing. Orthodontics aims to prevent malocclusion in adults.

Align your teeth with Smile orthodontic treatment.

Correctly positioned teeth not only improve the aesthetics of your smile, but also your breathing, phonetics, chewing and swallowing.

In our centre, after a careful study of the case using plaster casts of the dental arches and X-rays of the mouth and skull, a personalised treatment plan is drawn up, which includes the design of the appropriate orthodontic devices needed to reposition the teeth. Depending on your needs and requirements, removable or fixed devices or transparent aligners can be used.

When should you take your child to the orthodontist?

It is essential that a child is seen by an orthodontist around the age of four in order to prevent early malocclusions in breathing, swallowing

and phonation.

By intervening early and maintaining good habits after tooth replacement, it is often possible to avoid lengthy orthodontic treatment of the permanent teeth and achieve stable results over time.
